TEHRAN, Oct. 01 (YPA) – The first joint ground maneuver between the ground forces of the Iranian army and the Sultanate of Oman was launched on Tuesday in the Jabal Akhdar region of the Sultanate of Oman.
The maneuver, called “Suqur al-Jabal 1,” is being conducted with the participation of the ground forces of Iran and the Sultanate of Oman, in addition to the support of the Oman Air Force and Police, with the aim of exchanging and transferring expertise and improving the level of combat and operational preparedness.
Iran conducted the joint electronic warfare exercises to test its ability to fight this type of war against drones, fighters, and helicopters that mimic enemy aircraft.
The Iranian “Tasnim” agency reported that “units of the naval, land, and air forces, as well as air defenses, participated in the exercises in the central desert region of Iran,” noting that the training included radar devices, drones, combat aircraft, some of which were drones, micro-air vehicles, and other military vehicles locally manufactured.
