Hezbollah vows retaliation for pager devices attack

BEIRUT, Sept. 19 (YPA) – Hashim Safi Al Din. the head of Hezbollah’s executive council, has vowed that “the Zionist communications device attack in Lebanon will have its own consequences,” emphasizing that such retaliation is inevitable.

At the funeral ceremony of the martyrs of the explosive devices, Safi al-Din stated, “This aggression will have its own punishment, and that punishment is certainly coming.”

He added that “we are facing a new pattern and a new confrontation with the enemy to show that we do not retreat.”

Safi al-Din emphasized, “If the aim of the aggression is to stop our support efforts, the enemy should understand that our fight will only intensify, become more resolute, and advance further.”

A senior Lebanese security source told Reuters that the Israeli spy agency “Mossad” was responsible for planting explosives in 5,000 “pager” devices imported by Hezbollah months before the explosions on Tuesday, with 3,000 of those devices detonating.

Meanwhile, The New York Times reported that the wireless pagers that exploded in Hezbollah members’ hands simultaneously on Tuesday were manufactured in Taiwan and had been rigged by Israel before reaching Lebanon.

US officials noted that the pagers were produced by Taiwan-based Gold Apollo.

Hezbollah Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah is scheduled to speak today at 5:00 PM today, Thursday, marking his first comments on the attacks from Tuesday and Wednesday.
