ABYAN, July 18 (YPA) – An activist loyal to the Saudi-led coalition forces on Tuesday survived an assassination attempt in Yemen’s Southern province of Abyan, local sources told Yemen Press Agency.
The sources said that unknown gunman fired a barrage of bullets towards the activist “Simon Hansh” in headquarter where she is working.
According to the activist Simon Hansh”, she said that “I was assaulted for the second time and threatened with murder by shooting in front of the staff at my workplace.
“I managed to clash with the person, who fired a barrage of bullets, and I was able to pull the mask over his face and I was able to identify the man who threatened to kill me”, she said.
“The defendant was put in jail, but he was released hours after being placed in prison with personal guarantees, without informing me “, she added.
She called on Abyan governor loyal to the coalition forces to conduct investigations into the incident.
All the military and security commanders loyal to the Saudi-UAE coalition hold responsible for what is going to happen to me from that person who tried to kill me twice, she stated.
Abyan and other southern provinces, under the control of the UAE occupation forces, have been witnessing a case of chaos insecurity amid the spread of armed groups of al-Qaeda and Daesh and increasing violations against civil and military figures.
