Meteorology center issues new warnings on weather changes in Yemen

SANAA, Sept. 06 (YPA) – The National Center for Meteorology and Early Warning has expected on Friday, rains of varying intensity in several areas of the Yemeni provinces.

In its weather bulletin, the center said that scattered rain may fall in parts of the provinces of Taiz, Ibb, Dhamar, Sanaa, Amran, Raymah, Hajjah, Mahweet, and Saada.

The rains may extend westward to include parts of the Tihama plain and Hodeida governorate, the center added.

According to the center, scattered thunderstorm and rain of different intensity to lash parts of the provinces of Lahj, Dhalea, Al-Bayda, Abyan, Shabwa, Hadramout, Mahra, and the western, southern, and eastern coasts, as well as the deserts of Mahra and Hadramout.

The center renewed its warnings to citizens about being in the depths of valleys, flood paths, crossing land bridges, and of thunderstorms and strong winds, and decreased horizontal visibility due to rainfall and fog formation.

It also warned of rockslides on roads and mountain slopes and the collapse of mud and popular buildings due to continued rainfall.
