HADRAMOUT, Aug. 28 (YPA) – Three citizens were seriously injured on Wednesday in an electric shock incident in Hadramout governorate, eastern Yemen.
Local sources reported that the electricity pole fell due to strong winds during heavy rains in Al-Shihra neighborhood of Al-Hawtah area in Shibam district, which resulted in injuring three civilians with various burns.
The sources explained that the residents were able to rescue the citizens and transfer them to a hospital, while their health condition was described as critical due to the fire that broke out in the power lines, amid a state of panic among the residents of the area.
The sources attributed the incident to the Electricity Corporation’s failure to carry out any maintenance work on the dilapidated electricity lines and poles, which have become a direct threat to the residents of Hadramout Valley districts.
