Sanaa FM, IOM discuss most important projects implemented in Yemen

SANAA, Aug. 26 (YPA) – Sanaa-based Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Jamal Amer, stressed on Monday the importance of the commitment of international organizations to ensure that their projects in Yemen should take into for the social and cultural privacy of the Yemeni people.

This came during his meeting with Matt Hooper, the acting head of the International Organization for Migration(IOM) in Yemen, to discuss the most important projects being implemented by the mission in the country.

During the meeting, Minister Amer pointed out a number of issues that need to be addressed by the IOM, including the repeated protests by a number of migrants, which disturb security and citizens.

For his part, Mr. Hooper explained that the mission will keen in its projects to adhere to the recognized rules for working through official channels, noting that one of the most important obstacles facing the mission’s work is the severe shortage of funding for projects.

The IOM official stressing the need to work with donors to increase funding for projects that the IOM has implemented in Yemen. Hooper affirmed the importance of joint cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to lead to the return of donors.
