WORLD, Aug. 24 (YPA) – The Russian Foreign Ministry has called on the UN Security Council to adopt a new decision on ceasefire in Gaza, after failure to implement the decision proposed by the United States and approved by the Council last June.
In a statement, the Russian Foreign Ministry said, “Russia has proposed that the UN Security Council adopt a new resolution for a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and to facilitate humanitarian aid delivery to the residents of the region.”
On July 10, the Security Council adopted a US draft resolution calling for a permanent ceasefire in Gaza, the withdrawal of Israeli forces from the region, and the return of displaced persons to their areas.
