Continued rainfall expected in several Yemeni provinces

SANAA, Aug. 21 (YPA) – The weather instability will be continued in Yemen, amid expectations of continued rainfall in several Yemeni provinces.

The National Center for Meteorology expected on Wednesday that heavy rainfall in the highlands of the provinces of Lahj, Taiz, Ibb, Dhalea, Bayda, Dhamar, Rayma, Sanaa, Amran, Mahweet, Hajjah and Saada, extending to Hajjah, Hodeida, Taiz, Mahra, Hadramout, Shabwa, Abyan, Aden, Marib and Jawf.

It stated that the coastal areas would be partly cloudy, with temperatures ranging between 32-37 degrees Celsius, and the winds may be very strong around the Socotra Archipelago, with a maximum speed of 45 knots, and moderate to very strong between 23 to 32 knots on the eastern, southern and western coasts, and thunderstorms of varying intensity accompanied by rains may fall on parts of the eastern and southern coasts, extending westward to the western coasts of the provinces of Hajjah, Hodeida and Taiz.

According to the center, the desert areas will be partly cloudy and have high temperatures during the day, with maximum temperatures ranging between35-40 degrees Celsius, with scattered rain falling on parts of the deserts of Jawf, Marib, Shabwa, Hadramout and Mahra.

The Meteorology urged citizens to take the utmost caution and avoid being in valleys and torrents and crossing ground bridges during rains.
