RIYADH, Aug. 05 (YPA) – The Saudi authorities arrested the Iraqi academic Salman al-Sabawi, after he raised a picture of the martyrdom of Ismail Haniyeh while performing Umrah rituals.
Iraqi researcher Hussein Al-Sabawi posted a photo of his nephew, university professor Salman Al-Sabawi, standing in front of the Kaaba, holding a paper on which was written, “A Umrah gift to the martyred Ismail Haniyeh from Mosul.”
The Saudi authorities has not commented on Hussein al-Sabawi’s report about his nephew’s arrest yet. It considers raising such banners as “political slogans” prohibited in the Grand Mosque.
