Local currency continues to drop against foreign currencies in Aden

SANAA, Aug. 04 (YPA) – The city of Aden and the southern and eastern provinces of Yemen have been witnessing a continuous collapse of the local currency against foreign currencies since the beginning of this month.

Banking sources in Aden reported that the exchange rate of the dollar recorded during the past hours, 1,917 riyals and the Saudi riyal 500 riyals, with a cumulative increase since the beginning of this August amounting to more than 20 riyals to the dollar and about 12 riyals to the Saudi riyal.

In Sanaa, the Central Bank of Yemen published a circular containing the maximum selling prices for major currencies as follows:

Saudi riyal to Yemeni riyal = 140 Yemeni riyals

US dollar to Yemeni riyal = 530.50 Yemeni riyals

US dollar to Saudi riyal = 3.79 Saudi riyals.
