OCCUPIED PALESTINE, July 22 (YPA) – Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper and the Walla website said that the Israeli security services arrested a former Palestinian prisoner linked to the Hamas movement on charges of killing an Israeli Prison Service officer by stabbing him with a knife inside a settlement near occupied Jerusalem.
The newspaper and the website published details of what they described as the killing of prison officer, Yohay Avni (40years old), by former prisoner Ibrahim Mansour and the burning of the apartment in which he was live.
The Walla website quoted the Commissioner of the Prisons Service, Kobi Yacobi, as saying that Mansour is a known “security detainee”, noting that units of the police, army, and Shin Bet internal security service arrested him about 10 days ago and transferred him to a detention center where he is currently being investigated.
According to the Commissioner of the Israeli Prison Service, the investigations did not reveal any link between the killing operation and the job of the dead officer.
Yacobi explained that there was no previous relationship between the operation perpetrator and the dead prison officer, as Ibrahim Mansour was not detained in Ofer Prison near Ramallah or another prison where Yohay Avni worked.
