Transport Minister declares new statement regarding Sanaa Airport

SANAA, July 09 (YPA) – Sanaa-based Minister of Transport, Abdul Wahab Al-Durra, said on Tuesday that the Saudi-led coalition wants to restore the situation at Sanaa airport to square one by banning flights.

“Sanaa will not accept except by opening all destinations to the Yemeni people,” the minister affirmed in a statements.

He pointed out that there has not been any decision by the United Nations to stop the airport or impose a siege, and what the coalition is doing is a war crime.

Earlier, the Sanaa-based administration of the Yemeni Airlines Company confirmed in a statement that the coalition is not serious in opening Sanaa International Airport by scheduling only one destination, which is “Sanaa-Amman flights.”

The statement affirmed that the coalition has continued to completely close the airport and allocate seats for sale outside Yemen.

“This is a clear circumvention and repudiation of its lack of seriousness in opening Sanaa Airport with the goal of increasing the suffering of the Yemeni people and relieving them of embarrassment before the international community,” it added.
