Al-Mortada declares end of UN-brokered negotiations in Oman

SANAA, July 06 (YPA) – Sanaa-based head of the Prisoners’ Affairs Committee, Abdul Qadir Al-Mortada, announced the end of the UN-brokered negotiations that held in the Omani capital, Muscat, regarding the prisoners’ file.

“Today in the Omani capital, Muscat, we completed the round of negotiations on the prisoner file, in which some points were agreed upon, the most important of which is resolving the problem regarding Mohammed Qahtan, and also the exchange of some lists of prisoners,” Al-Mortada said in his tweet on the “X” platform on Saturday.

He pointed out that, it was agreed to resume negotiations after two months, due to the lack of time, and the two parties would focus their attention during this period on completing the submission of the lists of the prisoner names and approving them until the next round.

Al-Mortada appreciated the role of Oman in hosting this round of negotiations.
