WEST BANK, July 06 (YPA) – Israeli settlers set fire on Saturday to Palestinian farmlands in the central West Bank, causing large areas of them to burn.
Mayor of the village of Turmus Ayya, east of the city of Ramallah, Lafi Adeeb, said, “Several Settlers burned citizens’ lands in the village, and we cannot control the road.”
“The fire is still burning strongly in dozens of dunams (a dunam equals a thousand square metres) in Palestinian plain areas, while the Palestinian Civil Defense crew is unable to control it,” he said, Anadolu Agency.
Lafi Adeeb pointed out that “settlers have been preventing citizens from accessing their lands for months, which has led to the proliferation of weeds in fields planted with olive trees.”
