ABYAN, July 07 (YPA) – Several tribes of Abyan province, south of Yemen, gave the factions of the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) four days to reveal the fate of their sons have been kidnapped since mid-June in the city of Aden.
The tribes confirmed in a statement they lifted the armed points that were installed on the main road linking Abyan and Aden, indicating that the options would be still opened unless the fate of Ali Ashal Al-Jaadani be revealed.
The statement reported the arrest of 8 of those accused of kidnapping Al-Jaadani, who serves as a commander of one of the air defense battalions in Aden, following the measures that Abyan security forces had taken in Al-Mudara area in central Aden for investigations with the accused.
It indicated that the armed points were removed from the main road in Abyan by the Al-Jaadna tribe, along with the rest of the Abyan tribes, in appreciation of the living conditions of the people of Aden as a result of the detention of fuel tankers from the power plants in Aden.
Al-Jaadani was kidnapped and forcibly disappeared by the STC factions on June 12, amid reports indicating the involvement of leaders loyal to the UAE in being behind the process.
