US Officials: USS Wasp heading to eastern Mediterranean amid Hezbollah-Israel tensions

WORLD, June 29 (YPA) -US officials revealed on Friday, that t, belonging to the US Navy, is en route to the eastern Mediterranean amid escalating tensions between Lebanese Hezbollah and the Zionist entity.

ABC News reported officials stating, “This move is not indicative of plans to evacuate American citizens from Lebanon, but rather for similar deterrent purposes as previous deployments.”

The source clarified, “The primary goal of this move is to provide options for US leaders and prevent the escalation of conflict between Hamas and Israel into a broader regional conflict.”

According to officials, the USS Wasp carries aboard 2,200 Marines trained to execute a wide range of missions, including evacuating American citizens from conflict zones.
