MECCA, June 15 (YPA) –On the 9th of Dhul-Hijjah, pilgrims are performing the ritual of standing at mount Arafat (Wuquf).
The began their journey from Mina to Arafat, where they ascend Mount Arafat on this major day of standing.
They will combine and shorten the noon and afternoon prayers before moving on to Muzdalifah to spend the night and then proceed to Mina to continue the Hajj rites.
As the sun sets, the pilgrims will depart from Arafat towards Muzdalifah, where they will spend the night.
On the morning of the 10th of Dhul-Hijjah (the Day of Sacrifice and the first day of Eid al-Adha), they will return to Mina for the stoning of Jamrat al-Aqaba, the sacrificial rituals, and then perform shaving or trimming of the hair. Following this, they will head to Mecca for the Tawaf al-Ifadah.
The pilgrims will then return to Mina to spend the days of Tashreeq (the 11th, 12th, and 13th of Dhul-Hijjah) performing the stoning of the three Jamarat, starting with the smallest, followed by the middle, and finally Jamrat al-Aqaba (the largest). Pilgrims in a hurry can shorten their stay to two days before heading to Mecca for the farewell Tawaf, marking the completion of their Hajj rites.
