Benny Gantz resigns from Israeli war cabinet

WORLD, June 09 (YPA) – War Cabinet member Benny Gant announced his resignation from the government after the deadline he set for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to make strategic decisions regarding the war on the Gaza Strip expired.

Netanyahu had called on Benny Gantz, not to resign from the emergency unity government formed in the wake of the war on Gaza, urging him to “not give up on unity.”

“We must remain united within ourselves against the big missions that stand in front of us,” Netanyahu said on X.

“I call on Benny Gantz – don’t leave the emergency government. Don’t give up on unity,” the Zionist prime minister added.
