Sanaa celebrates 34th anniversary of Yemeni Unity Day “May 22”

SANAA, May 26 (YPA) – The Supreme Political Council and the Sanaa government organized on Sunday a celebratory event on the occasion of the 34th anniversary of the blessed Yemeni unity, May 22.

During the celebration, in which a number of members of the Supreme Political Council, the government, the Houses of Representatives, the Shura Council, senior leaders, civil and military officials, and social figures participated, a number of speeches were delivered that stressed the importance of unity as an exceptional achievement for the Yemeni people.

The Prime Minister of Sanaa, Abdulaziz bin Habtoor, confirmed that “Yemen is united, and the unionists are present in the north and south of Yemen, and we have nothing to do with mercenaries and agents.”

Bin Habtoor added, “Those who have the right to celebrate Unity Day are those in Sanaa, and those staying in Riyadh hotels are the last people to talk about unity.”

Regarding the axis of resistance and Yemen’s active role in supporting the Palestinian people, the Prime Minister said, “We are doing our duty, and our operations are continuing and have reached the Mediterranean, and we are interested in being part of the axis that ensures the survival of the Palestinian cause.”

For his part, Ahmed Ghaleb Al-Rahwi, a member of the Supreme Political Council, said in a speech, “It is important to remember what was stated in the unity agreement.”

Al-Rahawi added, “We, the people of the southern and eastern provinces, are proud of this unity,” stressing that unity is not a political issue that can be contested. “It is a religious issue linked to divine commands and prohibitions, which commanded us to unite.”
