Hamas calls on ICC to issue arrest warrants against all Zionist war criminals

GAZA, May 20 (YPA) – Hamas movement called on the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (ICC)to issue arrest and detention orders against all war criminals, including occupation leaders and officers participating in crimes against the Palestinian people.

Hamas said in a statement demanded that all arrest warrants issued against Palestinian resistance leaders should be canceled for violating UN conventions and resolutions.

The statement indicated that the arrest and detention warrants against the occupation leaders came seven months late, during which the Israeli occupation committed thousands of crimes against Palestinian civilians, including children, women, doctors, and journalists, and destroyed private and public property, mosques, churches, and hospitals.

It strongly denounced the attempts of the ICC Prosecutor to equate the victim with the executioner by issuing arrest warrants against a number of Palestinian resistance leaders, without a legal basis, in violation of the international conventions and resolutions that give the Palestinian people and all the peoples of the world under occupation the right to resist the occupation in all forms, including Armed resistance, according to Article 51of the United Nations Charter.

Earlier in the day, the Prosecutor of the ICC requested issuing arrest and detention warrants against Benjamin Netanyahu and Yoav Gallant, in addition, several Palestinian resistance leaders, including Ismail Haniyeh, Yahya Sinwar, and Mohammed al-Deif.
