Yemeni air defenses shoot down US MQ-9 drone over Marib

MARIB, May 17 (YPA) –  Yemen’s air defenses successfully shot down an American MQ-9 drone on Thursday evening while it was conducting hostile activities in the skies over Marib governorate, spokesman for Yemeni armed forces, Brigadier General Yahya Sarie, said in a post on his telegram channel.

Brigadier General Yahya Sarie added, “This is the fourth drone shot down during the Battle of Promised Conquest battle and Sacred Jihad in support of Gaza”.

Sarie confirmed that the drone was targeted with a locally manufactured surface-to-air missile, nothing that footage of the downing will be published later, God willing.

“The Armed Forces affirm their full readiness on all levels: land, sea, and air, and that all enemy attempts will fail, with the Armed Forces standing vigilant, Allah willing,” the Brigadier General stressed.
