Angry protests organized in Shabwa due to Al-Shamiri assassination

SHABWA, May 04 (YPA) – An angry demonstration took place on Saturday, in Ataq city, the center of Shabwa governorate, which is under the control of the coalition, denouncing the assassination of citizen Habib Al-Shamiri in the center of the city.

Participants in the demonstration raised pictures of Al-Shamiri, amid accusations that a soldier in the Security Department was behind the assassination of Al-Shamiri last week.

They called on Shabwa authorities loyal to the UAE to arrest the perpetrators, chanting slogans demanding justice and deterrent punishment against those responsible for the assassination.

The demonstrators vowed that the protests would expand if their demands to arrest the perpetrators and bring them to justice were not met.

A state of dissatisfaction and anger prevailed among citizens in Shabwa as a result of assassinations recorded against unknown persons, including murder under torture inside prisons belonging to the UAE forces.
