UAE brings hundreds of recruits to military base in Yemen

SHABWA, April 23 (YPA) – The UAE forces have brought hundreds of recruits to one of its military bases on the Arabian Sea in Shabwa province, eastern Yemen.

Sources familiar with the matter said the UAE forces, which is headquartered in the Balhaf gas facility in the coastal district of Rudum, delivered recruits from outside Shabwa on board large buses to the Balhaf area on the same province during the past hours.

The sources reported that the UAE is planning to establish new camps in Balhaf overlooking the Arabian Sea, with the expansion of missile military operations by Sanaa forces on Israeli and American ships in the Arabian Sea and the Indian Ocean, in addition to the Gulf of Aden, Bab al-Mandab, and the Red Sea, in support of the Palestinian resistance in Gaza since last November.

Earlier, the Emirati forces expelled the so-called “Balhaf Elite,” which was formed by the people of Radum, in addition to expelling approximately 6,000 members of the “Shabwani Elite,” which was led by Mohammed al-Buhar, following the establishment of so-called “Shabwa Defense” factions, most of whose members were recruited from outside Shabwa, early 2020.
