SANAA, April 19 (YPA) – The Yemeni capital, Sanaa, and its neighboring areas, have witnessed scattered rain with cloudy skies.
The National Center for Meteorology expected medium to heavy rain that might lead to floods in the plateaus and deserts of the provinces of Mahra, Hadramout, Shabwa, Marib, Jawf, Bayda, Abyan, Lahij, Dhalea, and Taiz.
The center said in its daily weather bulletin that it expects rain of varying intensity, sometimes accompanied by thunder, in the provinces of Saada, Amran, Sanaa, Hajjah, Mahweet, Dhamar, Raymah, Ibb, and Taiz, including the western and southern coasts, parts of the eastern coast, and the Socotra Archipelago.
According to the center, there may be disturbances in the sea in the Gulf of Aden, the Bab-el-Mandeb Strait, and the southern Red Sea.
The center warned citizens in areas where rain is expected to fall in the depths of valleys and flood paths during and after the rain.
It also warned vehicle drivers on mountain roads of reduced horizontal visibility due to rain, low clouds, and fog formation, and advised against crossing ground bridges during the flow of torrential rains.
