MAHRA, April 17 (YPA) – The heavy rains that Mahra province, eastern Yemen, is witnessing as a result of the weather depression have cut off a number of roads for citizens and travelers, local sources said on Wednesday evening.
According to local sources in Qishn district, the torrent of Wadi Ghuburi is besieging travelers and citizens in the district.
Activists on social media posted a video showing the floods sweeping away one of the cars, and another car was monitored being swept away by the flood after it was heading to Saihut district.
Meanwhile, media sources reported that the emergency committee in the province discussed developments in the depression expected to affect the province and raised preparedness in anticipation of any emergency.
Mahra and Hadramout provinces are witnessing a depression. As a result, torrents of heavy rains flooded a number of districts of Hadramout valley and a number of areas in Mahra, amid alert from local authorities.
