Tehran confirms its readiness to take further defensive measures if necessary

TEHRAN, April  14 (YPA) – The Iranian Foreign Ministry confirmed on Sunday that the attack on “Israel” came within the framework of the United Nations Charter and in response to the Israeli attacks and the killing of Iranian military advisors in Syria.

Tehran reiterated its commitment to the principles and objectives of the United Nations Charter and international law and affirmed its determination to decisively defend its sovereignty, territorial integrity, and national interests against any illegal use of force or aggression, according to the Foreign Ministry statement.

The statement considered that “resorting to defensive measures in exercising the right of legitimate defense shows the responsible approach taken by Iran towards regional and international peace and security.”

This comes at a time when the illegal practices and genocide carried out by the Zionist apartheid regime against the Palestinian people, the repeated Israeli attacks against neighboring governments, and the ignition of fires in the region and beyond continue.

The Foreign Ministry concluded: “If necessary, the Islamic Republic of Iran will not hesitate to take further defensive measures to protect its legitimate interests against any aggressive military actions and illegal use of force.”
