SANAA, April 05 (YPA) -The head of the National Negotiating Delegation, Mohammed Abdulsalam, accused Washington and the Saudi-led aggression of waging a brutal war on the Yemeni currency.
In a post on his X account on Thursday, Abdulsalam questioned the reason behind “America’s and European countries’ dissatisfaction with the partial measures taken by the Yemeni Central Bank to address the currency situation.”
“The minting of a 100-rial coin was not arbitrary but a necessary step taken to replace damaged paper currency,” he added.

The United States’ displeasure with Sana’a’s issuance of new coin currency to replace damaged currency is evident in a statement published by its alleged embassy in Yemen, which condemned the move.
In a post on the X platform, it stated, “It is necessary to prevent counterfeit currency from entering the market.”
