UN Secretary-General condemns Zionist attack at Iranian consulate in Damascus

SANAA, April 03 (YPA) – UN Secretary-General, Antonio Guterres, condemned the Zionist attack that targeted, on Monday evening, the Iranian consulate in Damascus, confirming the inviolability of diplomatic facilities.

UN spokesman Stephane Dujarric said in a statement on Tuesday that Secretary-General Antonio Guterres condemned the attack on the Iranian diplomatic headquarters in Damascus and called on all parties concerned to exercise maximum self control and avoid further escalation.

“The secretary-general warns that any miscalculation could lead to a widening of the conflict in an already turbulent region, with devastating consequences for civilians who are in fact facing unprecedented suffering in Syria, Lebanon, the Occupied Palestinian territories and the wider Middle East region”, the statement added.
