SANAA, March 22 (YPA) – The National Center for Meteorology said that scattered rain showers are expected in several provinces, accompanied by occasional thunderstorms, and hot weather is expected in deserts and coastal plains over the next 24 hours.
In its weather bulletin on Friday, the center said that scattered rain showers, occasionally accompanied by thunderstorms, are expected in parts of western Saada, Hajjah, Mahweet, Amran, Sanaa, Dhamar, and Raymah, which may include parts of the western coast and the Socotra Archipelago.
The weather is expected to be hot in deserts and coastal plains.
Furthermore, active to strong winds are expected over the southern western coast, the Bab al-Mandeb Strait entrance, and the western Gulf of Aden, reaching speeds of up to 25 knots.
The center urged citizens to take caution and avoid being in the paths of flash floods and valleys during and after rainfall.
It warned residents of desert areas and coastal plains in the west of hot weather, dust, and sand stirred up by the winds, as well as residents of central and southern coastal areas and adjacent inland areas of sand stirred up by active winds.
The center also warned fishermen and sea-goers in the southern western coast, Bab al-Mandeb Strait entrance, and the western Gulf of Aden of sea disturbances and rising waves.
