Confrontations erupted among militants in Shabwa

SHABWA, March 19 (YPA) – Fierce clashes broke out between tribal gunmen and UAE-funded factions on Tuesday in Shabwa province, eastern Yemen.

Local sources said that various types of weapons were used in the clashes between Al Dayan tribes and several members of the Al-Amaliqa forces in the center of Khoura district.

The sources added that a dispute occurred between the gunmen and developed to confrontations that caused to material losses in citizens’ property.

They indicated that tensions still exist between tribesmen and elements loyal to the UAE who have been brought to Shabwa from Lahj and Dhalea provinces since 2021.
