UNRWA reveals scale of tragedy among children in Gaza

GAZA, March 17 (YPA) – The Relief and Works Agency for Palestine refugees (UNRWA) has revealed the scale of the tragedy among children in the northern Gaza Strip, as a result of malnutrition.

According to ”UNRWA”, one out of every 3 children under the age of two in northern Gaza suffers from malnutrition.

UNRWA said that malnutrition is spreading rapidly among children and reaching unprecedented levels in Gaza, noting that famine is looming on the horizon.

The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies stressed that the humanitarian situation in Gaza is beyond catastrophic.

The secretary-general of the IFRC said that civilians are facing an unprecedented level of humiliation, misery and suffering in the Gaza Strip.
