Palestinian Foreign Ministry condemns Israeli occupation’s use of barbed wire on fence near Al-Aqsa

OCCUPIED QUDS, March 11 (YPA) – The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned on Monday the Israeli occupation’s placing of barbed wire on the fence adjacent to Al-Aqsa and the restrictions on freedom of worship.

In a statement issued today, the Ministry also strongly condemned any restrictions imposed by the occupation authorities to limit worshipers’ access to the mosque, stressing that this would lead to the explosion of the entire conflict arena.

The statement emphasized that “the occupation’s continued aggression against Al-Aqsa is the shortest way to blow up the entire conflict arena and plunge it into a fire that is difficult to control.”

The Ministry called for urgent and serious international intervention to stop “Israel’s encroachment on Al-Quds city and its holy sites, especially Al-Aqsa Mosque.”

The Palestinian News Agency “Wafa” reported in a report published earlier today that the Israeli occupation forces, on the first day of Ramadan, surrounded the fence adjacent to Al-Aqsa Mosque in the Bab Al-Asbat area with barbed wire.

According to the agency, “the Israeli occupation forces have imposed a strict siege on Al-Aqsa Mosque for five months and prevented entry into it, and they have issued dozens of deportation orders against Jerusalemites in order to prevent them from praying during the month of Ramadan.”
