Argentine woman recounts how Messi saved her from being captured by Hamas

WORLD, March 08 (YPA) – An elderly Argentine woman recounted her experience in “Israel” on October 7th last year, where she claimed that Argentine football legend Lionel Messi “saved her” from being captured by Hamas fighters.

According to Spanish newspaper “20 Minutos”, Ester Cuño, 90 years old, lived with her family in a kibbutz – agricultural communes in Israel – in the town of Nir Oz, bordering Gaza, when Hamas fighters detained eight members of her family.

The elderly Argentine woman appeared in a brief segment of a documentary titled “Voices of October 7th,” recounting the day she lived through when two Hamas members entered her home.

Ester added that when the Hamas members entered her home, where the woman lives alone, they demanded to know the whereabouts of her family members, but she maintained her composure and diverted the conversation to football.

Ester told the media that her survival is due to said conversation, in which, after telling those who were going to be her kidnappers that she was from Argentina like Messi, one of the attackers told her that he was a great fan of the Argentine star. After her, he made her pose for a strange photo that went viral on social networks where the old woman is seen with a gun in her and the Hamas fighter’s lap.
