GAZA, March 06 (YPA) – The death toll from malnutrition and dehydration in the Gaza Strip has risen to 20, Dr. Ashraf al-Qudra, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Health, announced on Wednesday.
Al-Qudra warned in a press statement, that the famine in northern Gaza has reached lethal levels, especially for children, pregnant women, and chronic patients.
He said, “The famine is deepening, and it will claim the lives of thousands of citizens if the (Israeli) aggression is not stopped and immediate entry of humanitarian and medical aid is allowed.”
In this context, the United Nations warned that widespread famine in Gaza has become “almost inevitable” if action is not taken to prevent it.
It is also expected that the relevant authorities will officially conclude next week that famine has reached the coastal enclave, which has a population of 2.2 million people.
