Leader of one of Giants Brigades escapes assassination attempt in Taiz

TAIZ, March 04 (YPA) – The leader of one of “Giants Brigades” was escaped on Monday from an unsuccessful assassination attempt on the Wadi al-Dabab Road controlled by Islah militants in Taiz governorate.

Informed local sources said that the commander of the “second Giants Brigade” Salafi Hamdi Shukri al-Subaihi, was subjected to an unsuccessful assassination attempt by unknown gunmen after visiting the pro-coalition governor of Taiz Nabil Shamsan.

The sources added that al-Subaihi’s assassination attempt came after Shamsan discussed the possibility of establishing a number of so-called “Advocacy Centers for new Salafi groups” in areas under the control of Al-Islah.

The sources did not provide more information about the incident, which did not cause any human and material losses.
