Girl raped in Taiz, Police arrested her family members

TAIZ, July 11 (YPA) – A girl was raped in Yemen’s southwestern province of Taiz over the past few days, according to human rights sources.

The sources said that the girl was raped in Safia’a area in the district of Ma’affer, southwest of the province which is coalition forces -held area.

The victim’s family came to the police station to inform them about the rape crime, however, the police chief ordered his security services to arrest some members of the victim’s family and they were released after 3 days, according to media reports.

The sources confirmed that the police department did not move to apprehend those accused of the rape, and they are still moving freely.

The incident is the second one recorded this month in Taiz province against the marginalized people, after the case of the killing of a marginalized man under torture by a leader of the 35th Armored Brigade.
