ADEN, Feb. 21 (YPA) – The exchange markets in Yemen’s southern and eastern provinces, under the control of the Saudi-led coalition, witnessed on Wednesday a major collapse of the local currency against the dollar.
Banking sources confirmed that the exchange rate of one dollar reached 1,687 riyals, while the price of the Saudi riyal reached 443.50 Yemeni riyals in Aden, an increase of 20 riyals from the dollar trading rates yesterday, Tuesday.
Meanwhile, the exchange rate of the riyal in Sanaa and the provinces under the control of the Supreme Political Council reached 530 riyals to the dollar and 140 riyals to the Saudi dollar.
