GAZA, Feb. 18 (YPA) – Palestine’s Prime Minister Mohammed Shtayyeh announced that the Hamas movement is an integral part of the Palestinian people, stressing the need for unity of the Palestinian parties.
Shtayyeh said in a speech he delivered at the Munich Security Conference session on Sunday that the current situation calls for an immediate ceasefire and allowing humanitarian aid to enter the Gaza Strip.
“We first need to recognize the Palestinian state,” he added. As the talk about the two-state solution has been began for 33 years and we need to move to the implementation stage.”
Shtayyeh explained: “For our part, we agree to the two-state solution, including Hamas, and we do not find a partner who agrees with us on Israel’s side. The whole issue boils down to ending the occupation and establishing a sovereign Palestinian state.”
He stressed that “the history of Palestine did not begin on October 7, and we have been suffering since 1948.”
Shtayyeh revealed that Russia invited the Palestinian factions to meet in Moscow this February, pointing out that “it is not clear whether the Hamas movement will participate, stressing that the Palestinian Authority is ready to deal with the movement.”
