HADRAMOUT, Feb. 14 (YPA) – Saudi Arabia has threatened to bomb the headquarters and camps of factions loyal to the UAE with warplanes in Hadramout province, eastern Yemen, informed sources said on Tuesday.
The sources reported that the commander of the “Support and Assistance” in the Saudi-led coalition, Sultan Al-Baqmi, threatened to bomb the camps of the “Hadrami Elite” after they refused to station the Saudi-funded “Dera Al-Watan” factions in the Hasissa area, west of Mukalla city, in the middle of last month.
The Saudi side did not comment on the trueness of these threats.
According to the sources, Emirati-Saudi tensions are leading Hadramout towards armed confrontations in the coming months, following the Emirati military parades of its factions in Mukalla, the center of the province, which the UAE uses as the headquarters for the command of its factions in the coastal districts.
The sources considered that the demonstration funded by the UAE early last week in Mukalla, entitled support for the “Hadrami elite,” came in response to Saudi threats, indicating that Saudi Arabia seeks to subject all districts of Hadramout to the control of its factions without the UAE, as it is considered “the strategic geographical depth.”
Military observers loyal to the UAE believe that the goal of the attempt to introduce the “National Shield” funded by Saudi Arabia is to remove the “Hadrami elite” and eliminate them later, given that each of them has a different project and tasks loyal to the UAE and Saudi Arabia.
