Transport Ministry in Sanaa: Navigation traffic in Red Sea is still at normal levels

SANAA, Feb. 05 (YPA) – Deputy Minister of Transport, Mohammed Al-Hashemi, confirmed on Monday that commercial maritime transport movement in the Red Sea is still within the normal range despite the threats made by American and British warships.

Al-Hashemi explained in a press statement on Monday that commercial ships and tankers receive daily threats from the American and British navies warning against passing through the Red Sea.

He pointed out that shipping on the vital trade route in the Red Sea decreased by 10% due to threats by American and British forces to ships and their owners.

For his part, the specialist in maritime transport affairs at the Ministry of Transport, Muhammad Hajar, explained that the daily rate of ship movement through the Red Sea reaches approximately 40 to 50 ships per day, according to changes in supply chains.

Hajar stressed that tankers and ships with all their loads, even cruise ships, continue to sail through the Red Sea without interruption.

He noted that shipping companies, shipowners, and commercial carriers realize the credibility of the Yemeni armed forces by not targeting ships that are not linked to the Israeli enemy or heading to it.
