Hamas: US aggression against Syria, Iraq is dangerous escalation threatening stability of region
GAZA, Feb. 03 (YPA) – The Islamic Resistance Movement, Hamas, has denounced American aggression against both Iraq and Syria.
Hamas considered that a dangerous escalation, an infringement on the sovereignty of the two Arab countries, and a threat to their security and the stability of the region.
The movement said in a statement on Saturday: “The American aggression against the two countries comes in service of the Zionist enemy’s expansionist agenda and to cover up its horrific crimes against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip.”
It held the administration of US President Joe Biden responsible for “the consequences of this brutal aggression against both Iraq and Syria, which adds fuel to the fire.”
The statement stressed that “the region will not witness stability or peace except by stopping the Zionist aggression, crimes of genocide, and ethnic cleansing against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip and ending the Zionist-Nazi occupation of the occupied Palestinian and Arab territories.”
The movement called on the American administration to revise its aggressive policies and respect the sovereignty of countries and the interests of the Arab peoples.
Last night, the US Central Command (Centcom) announced the launch of retaliatory strikes in Iraq and Syria against the Quds Force of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard. It said in a statement: “American military forces struck more than 85 targets, in cooperation with many aircraft that included long-range bombers launched from the United States.”
