Yemeni riyal falls to its lowest level against dollar in Aden

ADEN, Jan. 29 (YPA) – The Yemeni riyal in the city of Aden, which is under the control of the Saudi-led coalition, witnessed on Monday a deterioration against the US dollar, which heralds a living disaster whose consequences the citizens cannot bear.

The price of the dollar recorded 1,618 Yemeni riyals, an increase of 17 riyals since yesterday, Sunday, with no circulation and a ban on its sale by exchange companies.

The Money Changers Syndicate denounced what it described as the deafening and shameful silence of the management of the Central Bank of Aden regarding the deterioration in the value of the Yemeni riyal, which exceeded 1,600 riyals per dollar.

The syndicate stated that the pro-coalition government and bank employees receive their dues in dollars while citizens live in catastrophic conditions.
