Road to tankers continues to be blocked for third day in Hadramout

HADRAMOUT, Jan. 23 (YPA) – Tribal gunmen on Tuesday closed the main road to fuel and goods tankers in Al-Khasha’a area Hadramout province, eastern Yemen, for the third day in a row on Tuesday, demanding that fuel prices be reduced.

According to informed sources in the province, armed tribesmen refused to allow tankers loaded with fuel and goods, including local products, to pass through the western entrance to Hadramout in the Al-Khasha’a area, preventing them from leaving the province until the gasoline price is reduced to 3,500 riyals, as it is in Marib city, rather than 25,000 riyals.

The oil-rich Hadramout is the third province to hold protests demanding that the government reduce oil derivative prices, following Shabwa and Abyan, which held demonstrations and sit-ins demanding that the gasoline selling price in Marib be unified in their areas without discrimination.
