WOFRD condemns coalition’s militiamen crime of kidnapping woman
SANAA, July 10 (YPA) – Women organization for Rights and Development on Tuesday condemned the crime of Saudi-backed militiamen of kidnapping a woman from her home in Jawf province, in a statement obtained by Yemen Press Agency.
In the statement, the organization said that the crime of kidnapping women is a crime that violates the dignity of all Yemeni women and Yemenis in general.
The statement added that the crime is a flagrant violation of human rights in accordance with international conventions, pointing out that enforced disappearance, kidnapping or detention is a crime against humanity punishable by law and expose the perpetrators to the courts.
The statement called on the United Nations and humanitarian organizations operating in Yemen to take responsibility for this crime and other crimes against women’s freedom, life and dignity by the countries of aggression and their militiamen.
The statement appealed to Amnesty International, the Human Rights Commission and the Security Council to set up investigative committees to look into the cases of abductees and to take the most severe penalties according to international law.
