Palestine FM responds to alternative homeland proposal

GAZA, Jan. 23 (YPA) – Palestine’s Foreign Minister, Riyad al-Maliki, said on Monday that the Palestinians are fixed on their land and whoever proposes to create an island must go to it.

Al-Maliki’s statements came in response to the Israeli proposal to establish an alternative homeland for the Palestinians on an artificial island.

“We will not accept from the European Union anything less than condemnation of Netanyahu’s statements,” he added.

Earlier in the day, the Israeli occupation Foreign Minister, Israel Katz, said that Tel Aviv presented the idea of establishing an alternative homeland for the Palestinians on an artificial island.

This came during a meeting with European ministers in Brussels, on the sidelines of a meeting of European Union foreign ministers.

On Monday, the European Union will present a peace map during a meeting between the Israeli and Palestinian foreign ministers with their counterparts in the Union.
