Pentagon: American drone crashed in Iraq

WASHINGTON, Jan. 20 (YPA) – The US Department of Defense “Pentagon” announced on Saturday that a US military drone had crashed north of Baghdad.

The Washington Post newspaper quoted an American official as saying that an American drone crashed near Balad Air Base in Iraq, without specifying its type.

“Iraqi security forces recovered the plane, and there were no reports of injuries, and an investigation has been opened into the incident,” the US official added.

For its part, the “Islamic Resistance” in Iraq announced that it had opened fire on an American “MQ-9 Reaper” drone, which is capable of surveillance and attack.

Iraq’s Islamic resistance targets American military sites and bases in Syria and Iraq, against the backdrop of the brutal war waged by the Israeli occupation army on the Gaza Strip with American support.
