ADEN, Jan. 17 (YPA) – The government loyal to the Saudi-led coalition has seized the funds and assets of a company owned by a famous Yemeni businessman in the city of Aden, southern Yemen.
Media outlets loyal to the coalition reported that Prime Minister Maeen Abdulmalik directed the so-called Minister of Local Administration to seize the funds of the “Balqis Airline” company, owned by businessman Ahmed Saleh Al-Eisi, due to its evasion of paying its license renewal fees since 2018.
According to the media outlets, the so-called “Public Funds Appeals Prosecution” in Aden directed the executive seizure of the funds of the “Balqis” company based on a request directed by the Minister of Local Administration.
News from Aden stated that the company has refused to pay the 167 million riyals added to every travel and departure ticket through the company since 2018–2023.
The prosecution’s decision included implementing procedures for executive seizure of the company’s movable and immovable funds, wherever they are located or held.
The renewal of permits for the company has been stopped in line with the measures taken against the company and obligating it to pay the amounts owed.
