SHABWA, Jan. 03 (YPA) – Shabwa tribes blocked the road to Al-Uqlah oil fields and prevented the entry or exit of oil tankers, local sources in the governorate reported on Wednesday.
According to the sources, the tribes called on the government loyal to the Saudi-led coalition, to reduce the prices of oil derivatives and unify the prices in all governorates where the oil production fields are located, in addition to improving economic conditions and addressing the problem of currency collapse in all coalition-held areas.
The move came after nearly two days after a similar move carried out by the people of Hadramaut, who demanded an end to their suffering, improving their living conditions and good services.
The tribes of Marib governorate were able to convince the pro-coalition government to reverse its decision to raise the prices of oil derivatives after the tribes of Marib blocked the road and prevented the exit of oil tankers from the Safer fields.
It should be noted that there is a large disparity between the prices of oil derivatives in coalition-held areas, where the price of a twenty-liter petrol tank in Marib is 3,500 riyals, while its price in the neighboring governorate of Shabwa is 25,000 riyals.
