Al-Qaeda ambush targets UAE-backed forces in Shabwa

SHABWA, July 10 (YPA) – A military vehicle carrying soldiers of the so-called Shabwani elite force backed by the UAE occupation forces was ambushed overnight by Al-Qaeda militants elements in Shabwa province, a local official told Yemen Press Agency on Tuesday.

The attack was followed by armed clashes in Naqba Valley in Habban district of Shabwa, which left several of wounded from both sides, the official said without refering to human losses.

Al-Qaeda organization members are spreading in Yemen’s southern provinces of Shabwa and Abyan.

A report by the American Washington Post newspaper has confirmed growing of the organization’s elements during the war led by the Saudi-led coalition forces in Yemen since March 2015.
