Washington again obstructs Security Council’s vote on resolution on Gaza

WORLD, Dec. 21 (YPA) – The UN Security Council postponed once again voting on a resolution calling to allow safe and unhindered humanitarian access to Gaza.

“The Security Council has agreed to continue negotiations today to allow for additional time for diplomacy. And the presidency will reschedule the adoption for tomorrow (Thursday) morning,” said Ecuador’s Jose Javier De La Gasca Lopez-Dominguez, who holds the council’s rotating presidency.

This postponement was at the request of the United States.

Ambassador Lana Nusseibeh of the United Arab Emirates said: “Everyone wants to see a resolution that has impact and that is implementable on the ground.”

“We believe today, giving a little bit of space for additional diplomacy, could yield positive results,” she said.

The Israeli occupation continues its brutal aggression against the Gaza Strip for the seventy-fifth day in a row, with air and artillery bombardment, while its forces penetrate into various areas of the Strip.
